Singapore Expat Women (SEW) Launch Super-Fun Christmas Pop-Up – Saturday 26th November, 20160
Singapore Expat Women (SEW), the online community known for its coveted ‘Coffee in the Clouds’ at Ce La Vi and ‘Cocktails in the Clouds’ at Artemis is now all set to launch their very first Christmas pop-up party. Helmed by two lovely ladies, Gulshan Advani and Amanda Dyer, this event boasts a unique curation of brands for women, men and children. We managed to pinned down Gulshan for a quick Q&A as to why another pop-up.
L360: What makes SEW’s two existing events successful? Why do women come?
GA: Women come because the events are fun and they provide some escapism from the mundane. You get to meet genuinely nice ladies in a fun and non judgmental environment. Infact, many ladies have found new friendships which they have continued outside the group. And of course, the view at the venues make the experience that much more pleasant! Having recently relocated from Mumbai, I personally find the group not just helpful but super fun.
L360: Singapore is filled with shopping pop-ups. Why another?
GA: SEW was inundated with requests from its members about where to shop for Christmas. We wanted to curate something for the members by the members. We had strong insight into what the members would want to see and shop. After all, Amanda and I are both the target consumer and the two events ran weekly allowed us a hands-on interaction with other like-minded consumers. We saw a gap in the market and the pop-up party, a natural extension to our existing events, was born.
L360: What can we expect?
You can expect to find great brands – some new launches. We have something for everyone from home accessories, art, women’s & men’s fashion and accessories, art and much more. We have kept the number of brands to 18 this year with the objective of making the experience more curated and controlled. The venue, UsQuBa – Grill and Whisket Bar, is very much in line with our formula of great view, food and drinks. The idea is to have a fun family day out whilst ticking some Christmas shopping of the list! We were also very conscious that we wanted the event to be fun. Hence, we decided to hold a party where people can shop, drinks, eat and mingle. Its Christmas after all – the funnest time of the year
We’re in! See you there!
